CMU joins forces with the Thai Chamber of Commerce in China to conduct academic activities related to the areas of economy, trade, investment, education and culture between Thailand and China

Chiang Mai University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Cooperation with the Thai Chamber of Commerce in China to promote and support academic activities between Thailand and China in the areas of economy, trade, investment, education, and culture, including the preparation of short courses, seminar trainings, and the organization of project activities related to business exchange and to develop and prepare entrepreneurs interested in the Chinese market.



The online signing was held on September 9, 2021 with Chiang Mai University’s President Clinical Professor Niwes Nantachit, M.D. and Dr. Paichit Wiboonthanasarn, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Thai Chamber of Commerce in China signing the memorandum of agreement and was attended by CMU’s Associate Professor Rome Chiranukrom, Vice President and Dr. Danaitun Pongpatcharatrontep, Associate Dean for Social Services and Research College of Arts, Media and Technology and Head of China’s Intelligence Center. Several departments in Chiang Mai University are ready to participate in cooperative activities under this Memorandum of Understanding, including the Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Business Administration, the International College of Digital Innovation, College of Arts, Media and Technology, and the Center for ASEAN Studies.



It is anticipated that this agreement will facilitate cooperation between both parties and shall increase the potential for knowledge development, academic cooperation, and economic relations between Thailand and China to be stronger and closer.
