The Faculty of Architecture at Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Phandin Unchanam, Dean of the Faculty, and professors including Associate Professor Dr. Sant Suwatcharapinun, Assistant Professor Kan Khamkaew, Professor Dr. Piyadej Akkaraphotiwong, Associate Professor Dr. Sumawalee Jindapol, and Ajarn Piyachon Unchanam, extended a warm welcome to a delegation from Hue University in Vietnam.
The visiting delegation from Hue University included Dr. Nguyen Vu Minh, Assistant Dean; Dr. Pham Manh Hung, Head of Planning, Conservation, and Landscape; and Dr. Le Ngoc Van Anh, Assistant Dean for Research and International Relations, accompanied by several students. The visit's purpose was to participate in a workshop and to sign an educational cooperation agreement.
The morning session began with the opening ceremony of a workshop on wood architecture, presided over by Associate Professor Dr. Sant Suwatcharapinun, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The workshop was conducted by Assistant Professor Kan Khamkaew, Professor Dr. Piyadej Akkaraphotiwong, Associate Professor Dr. Sumawalee Jindapol, and Ajarn Piyachon Unchanam. Participants engaged in both theoretical lectures and a hands-on session where they created architectural models using bamboo.
In the afternoon, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Assistant Professor Dr. Phandin Unchanam, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, along with Professor Dr. Piyadej Akkaraphotiwong, Associate Professor Dr. Sumawalee Jindapol, and Ajarn Piyachon Unchanam. This agreement covers various key areas, including student and researcher exchange, curriculum collaboration, and joint international research projects.
