On Thursday, 12 February 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Vorathamon Cherapanukorn, Assistant Dean of Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary School, Chiang Mai University, attended the opening ceremony of the Chinese New Year celebration event entitled “Emerald Brilliance, Golden Dragon Welcomes the New Year” for the Academic Year 2025, held at Anubaan Chiang Mai School. On this occasion, staff members of Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching Program, MIdS CMU, organized a program promotion booth featuring interactive activities for students. These included a Chinese character paper-cutting workshop and a demonstration of Chinese language instruction, jointly conducted by master’s students from the Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching Program for primary school students at Anubaan Chiang Mai School. The event was organized under the Language and Mathematics Enhancement Program of Anubaan Chiang Mai School. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mrs. Gu Jingjing, Consul of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai, while Mr. Kowit Muentha, Director of Anubaan Chiang Mai School, delivered the welcome remarks. The objectives of the event were to promote students’ understanding of significant Chinese festivals, Chinese arts and culture, historical background, and traditional cuisine, as well as to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate their Chinese language skills through primary-level competitions with schools across Chiang Mai Province. The activities also fostered cultural exchange and enhanced students’ Chinese language proficiency. The coordination of the activity was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Phattharamanat Sritrakul, Program Chair of Contemporary Chinese Language Teaching Program.
