The International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University, had the distinct honor of welcoming Vassilis Kostoglou from the International Hellenic University, Greece, for an academic visit held from 23–25 February 2026. The visit reflected ICDI’s ongoing commitment to advancing international collaboration in research, academic development, and graduate education. Strategic Academic Engagement (23 February 2026) The visit commenced with a formal reception and executive meeting between Professor Kostoglou and ICDI’s management team. Discussions focused on potential avenues for academic and research collaboration, as well as future joint initiatives between the two institutions. The day concluded with a welcome dinner hosted in his honor, fostering collegial exchange in a warm and constructive atmosphere. Doctoral Mentorship and Academic Exchange (24 February 2026) On 24 February, Professor Kostoglou engaged in a professional discussion session with ICDI doctoral students as part of the 888892 PhD Seminar II course, conducted in a hybrid format (onsite and online). He provided insightful guidance on research methodology, academic discipline, sustained practice, and the importance of perseverance in scholarly work. Emphasizing the value of confidence and international research networking, he encouraged students to pursue impactful, high-quality research aligned with global standards. In the afternoon, Professor Kostoglou participated in doctoral Qualifying Examination presentations, offering constructive feedback on conceptual frameworks, research design, and the refinement of research questions. His international perspective contributed significantly to strengthening the academic rigor and clarity of the students’ research projects. ICDI Weekly Research Seminar (25 February 2026) The visit concluded with his featured lecture at the ICDI Weekly Research Seminar, held in Room ICB1102. In his presentation entitled “Introduction to Project Management,” Professor Kostoglou shared foundational principles and practical insights drawn from his expertise in Informatics and Electronic Engineering, providing valuable knowledge to students and faculty members alike. This academic visit marked a meaningful milestone in ICDI’s international engagement efforts. The exchange not only enriched the scholarly experience of doctoral students and faculty but also reinforced ICDI’s mission to cultivate globally competent researchers and strengthen sustainable international partnerships.
